ReviewTrigger helps restaurants ask their customers for feedback after an order. If you received a "How was your food?" message, this page explains what we hold about you and why.
Who is responsible
The restaurant you ordered from, and the ordering platform it uses (Foodhub), decide to send these messages and are responsible for your data. ReviewTrigger sends the message and records your rating on their behalf.
What we hold
- Your first name, and the phone number, email address or app account used for your order, so we can send one message
- Which restaurant you ordered from, and an order reference
- Your star rating, and anything you choose to write to the restaurant
- Whether you opened the message, and whether you went on to Google
We don't receive your address, payment details or what you ordered.
How long we keep it
Phone numbers and email addresses are stored encrypted and erased automatically after 90 days. Your rating, first name and any message you sent to the restaurant stay with the restaurant's records.
Who else sees it
The restaurant sees your rating and anything you write to it. Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean, data centre in London) and the service that delivers our texts process data only to run the service. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Google reviews
If you choose to leave a Google review, you post it on Google yourself, under Google's own terms and privacy policy. Everyone sees the Google option, whatever they rate.
Stopping messages
Every message has a link to stop review messages from ReviewTrigger. App notifications can also be switched off in the app's notification settings.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to it being used. Email [email protected] or contact the restaurant. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
